온유한 마음을 잃지 않게 하시고, 내게 오래 참음과 자비와 사랑과 착하고 온순함과 건강을 주십시요. 내가 지혜와 지식과 명철을 지니며, 하나님을 경외하는 일에 든든하게 하소서. 내게 필요한 것들을, 필요한 만큼만 주소서. 늘 모든 것들로부터 항상 날 돌보시는 하나님 아버지를 기억하시고, 회개하는 마음과 감사한 마음을 잃지 않게 하소서. 이런 기도들이 우리들의 기도가 되게 하소서.

그의 말씀에 아무것도 더 보태지 마라. 거짓말쟁이라고 꾸지람을 들으리라.
저에게는 당신께 간청할 일이 두 가지 있습니다. 그것을 제 생전에 이루어주십시오.
허황된 거짓말을 하지 않게 해주십시오. 가난하게도, 부유하게도 마십시오. 먹고 살 만큼만 주십시오.
배부른 김에, "야훼가 다 뭐냐?" 하며 배은망덕하지 않게, 너무 가난한 탓에 도둑질하여 하느님의 이름에 욕을 돌리지 않게 해주십시오.


Let me not lose my gentle heart, and give me longitude, goodness, gentleness, and health. May I have wisdom, knowledge, and understanding, and be secure in the fear of God. Give me what I need, as much as I need. Remember Heavenly Father, who always takes care of me from all things, and I will not lose repentance and thankfulness. Let these prayers be our prayers.

Do not add to his words, or he will rebuke you and prove you a liar.
"Two things I ask of you, O LORD; do not refuse me before I die:
Keep falsehood and lies far from me; give me neither poverty nor riches, but give me only my daily bread.
Otherwise, I may have too much and disown you and say, 'Who is the LORD ?' Or I may become poor and steal, and so dishonor the name of my God.
